I am such a proud aunt!

Quest’anno è stato un Natale speciale, non solo perchè dopo qualche anno l’abbiamo festeggiato di nuovo in famiglia, ma anche perchè è nata la mia nipotina, la bimba più bella che abbia mai visto… Benvenuta Anita!

The wedding season 2011 has come to an end and there was hardly a better way to conclude it than with an amazing scottish wedding at Hotel Schloss at Mondsee. I must admit that I had a lot of fun, not only because the bride and groom are such a lovely couple, but also because they have so many nice friends/and fun rugby colleagues. Even the weather adapted perfectly to Scottish standards and it rained almost all day long :-) ! Regardless we managed to shoot a lovely portrait session outside, visiting the Christmas market and picking some gorgeous locations in the castle.
In the evening I was lucky to witness some real Scottish dancing, which is a great way of socializing.

Hope you enjoy my last blog-post for 2011 and thanks for dropping by so regularly!

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2012!

This time the magazine published some pictures of an engagement shooting I did in Salzburg (see post below). You might remember Ting and Ruxian from their wedding pictures. I love this cute couple and we had a lot of fun exploring Salzburg and finding the nicest locations – kind of felt like some Chinese and Italian tourists :-)

This is my favourite!

For the second time one of my pictures has been awarded by the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association). The blog-post commenting on this beautiful Italian wedding is coming soon!

This wedding season has been particularly interesting and special, as I was fortunate to have been hired to photograph several weddings with international couples. One example is the mixed wedding of Marie and Tobias. Marie is Japanese-American and Tobias is German and they live together in Boston. When Marie saw the beautiful Klosterkirche in Birnau she fell in love with it right away and they decided to get married there. I was very happy to have the opportunity to take pictures there, because normally it is not allowed to do any photography inside this special building. Apart from the church the wedding was full of highlights starting with the beautiful bride, the harmony between the bridal couple, the amazing dresses and shoes and something that is rare to find in Europe – 6 brides maids and 6 ushers!

I have always found it fascinating to have the possibility to “get to know” photographers and other artists via the Internet- simply by following people’s blogs. At the same time it is kind of weird when you then have the possibility to meet them in person and see them in reality.
That was the feeling when I first met Christine (an amazing South African wedding photographer) during the workshop she was hosting in Munich. It was so pleasant how nice she is and incredibly open in sharing her experiences and knowledge with us. I spent two very nice and productive days with her and a group of very talented photographers, which was exactly what I needed in the middle of this incredibly busy wedding season. This are the results of those two days…
